Extensive experience as a Professional Musician, Teacher of Jazz Studies, Arts Administrator, Vocalist, Producer, Composer, Lyricist, and Recording Artist




1995-Present: Adjunct Professor, SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY

Teacher of the History of Jazz, Applied Jazz Voice, and Director of Vocal Jazz Ensembles, including developing an online course for the History of Jazz in 2009, and the History of Rock in 2014. Also instructs Jazz Voice students piano accompaniment.


2003-2010: Adjunct Professor, Williams College, Williamstown, MA

Ranked the #1 Liberal Arts College in the United States by U.S. News and World Report. Instructor of Jazz Voice and specialized Winter Study Programs, including classes on the following: The Vocal Music of Thelonious Monk in 2004 (with guests Steve Lacy & Leslie Gourse), The Music of Billy Strayhorn in 2006, Brazilian Music in 2008, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble in 2010.


1997-2000: Adjunct Professor, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY

Taught Applied Jazz Voice and a class on Vocal Jazz.



2005-present: Director of the Jazz Club of New Paltz, bringing in the following guest artists & jazz legends for workshops and performances: Jack DeJohnette, Norman Simmons, Jay Clayton & Sheila Jordan, Dewey Redman, Mingustration (a band playing the music of Charles Mingue), John Abercrombie, Frank Kimbrough & Matt Wilson, Mike Clark, Dafnis Prieto, Norman Simmons, among others, including a very valuable workshop by Nancy Tierney for the students on Internet Marketing, Relationship Marketing, and Social Media.
